For each contest, learners are rewarded entries when they earn skill point entries and/or special entries:

  • Participating learners are determined by which groups are assigned to the contest.

  • Skill point entry options are assigned to groups through Steps and Courses.

  • Special entries uses code embedded in software that reacts to specified learner actions.

As the contest creator, you decide:

  • which learner group(s) will take part in each contest

  • if existing or new skill point Steps should be part of it

  • whether special entries will be included as an entry opportunity

Assigning Contest Participants

Contests are assigned to group(s). Just like how Courses and groups work together, only those who're part of the group(s) can see and take part in specified contests! However, unlike Course/group assignment, once you've selected your group(s) for a contest there's no changing it!

You can include one, several, or all groups in a single contest, making both inter-department and company-wide contests possible.

Note: since groups can be assigned different Courses and Steps, including several groups in a single contest may result with some groups having an advantage due to more skill points/entries being available. In this case, consider providing the same skill point entries to everyone by creating a new contest group that houses all participating learners.

Step/Skill Entries

- Included Step/Skill Entries -

The moment a group is assigned a contest, any and all assigned Steps that award skill points are included as potential contest entries.

If none of the group's Steps have associated skill point entries, nothing will appear!

Rewards contest with no skill point entries included

To ensure learners have some Steps available that they can play to earn skill point entries, you must:

After that, LemonadeLXP will do the rest!

- Customizing Step/Skill Point Entries -

If your chosen group has some Step/skill points you don't wish to include, or you have a particular theme in mind for your contest (e.g., "Customer Service Champion") and only want relevant content showing, create a new "sub-group" just for the contest!

To do so:

Once you've completed the above, create your contest and assign the new group to make your custom contest a reality!

Special Entries

Special entries has rewards tie into real-world behaviour through the magic of code. API tokens and code are prepared and included in your chosen software, causing learners to earn entries by triggering key actions as specified by you.

For example, you may wish to have your learners complete and submit a form. In this case you would prepare your code and include it in your form's software, specifying that when a learner selects the "Submit" button they will earn "x" number of entries. So long as the learner selects "Submit," they will be rewarded!

You can have one or several special entry rewards included in your contest. Simply create a new API token and entry for each one and you're all set!
