Tobot the robot is LemonadeLXP's own tutorial master, guiding learners through the need-to-knows on how to play LemonadeLXP in a quick and simple way. All you need to do is choose the intro Step Tobot will walk your learners through - the rest is ready to go!

Choose Tobot's Introductory Step

Tobot will give learners a tour of the platform, complete with having them play their very first training game. And you get to choose which Step Tobot will use!

First, make sure you have a Step ready to go. You can create your own intro Step, or install your favourite Step from the Content Exchange library!

Next, create a Course that includes the intro Step! Make sure the Step is the first one in the list!

Finally, the most important thing you must do is assign the "Intro" category to the Course!

Tobot knows that the "Intro" category is just for them. When learners go through a tutorial session with a learner, Tobot will find the Course assigned to the "Intro" category and have the learner play through that Course's first Step!

Pro tips:

  • keep only one Course assigned to the "Intro" category to ensure all new learners play the same introductory training game when they go through the "How to Play" tutorial! (If two or more are assigned, Tobot will pick a Course at random!)

  • your tutorial Course needs to be published and assigned to your LLXP general Group

  • the first Step of the tutorial Course must issue a letter grade, that's how Tobot recognizes that the learner has completed the training game!

Customizing each Group's tutorial experience

Typically, you'll want all of your learners to have the same tutorial experience when they first register for your LemonadeLXP. To do this, you must:

  • have all registered learners be part of the same general Group (e.g., "Learners" group)

  • assign the general Group to the Intro tutorial Course

But what if you want to customize each Group's tutorial experience?

To offer your learner Groups their own tutorial experience, you must do the following for each Group:

  • create a tutorial Course

  • assign the Course to the "Intro" category

  • assign the Course to the Group it's meant for

In this case, even though several Courses are set as an "Intro" Course, learners will only see the materials that were assigned to their Group when they go through the tutorial.

Including additional languages

Should you include more than one language in your LemonadeLXP, make sure your tutorial Step and Course are both completely translated. Otherwise, learners won't be able to complete the tutorial when playing in the other language!

Change Tobot's Name

Though not required, Tobot the robot is happy to change its name if you so wish. Luckily, it's super easy to do!

From the admin panel, head to "Settings," "Booster Game," then choose the "Variables" tab.

Find the "Tour Guide Mascot Name" entry. Change it to the name of your choice, then save!

Change Tobot's Images

For those who wish to have their own company mascot leading the way, Tobot's ready to "transform" into the images you want!

In the admin panel, head to "Settings," "Booster Game", then choose the "Tour Guide" tab.

Choose a main tour guide image of your own, then use it to replace Tobot's default image by either drag-and-dropping your image onto Tobot, or selecting Tobot and finding the image in your computer.

Once you've added your own custom default tour guide image, a list of additional poses will appear!

Though not required, to provide the best tutorial experience to your learners we recommend replacing them all with your own custom guide images accordingly! Otherwise, all additional poses will be replaced with your default image, making your tutorial feel a bit less animated.

Image Shape

Your tour guide images must be square-shaped to prevent cropping! For those whose images have a tall or wide character, you must either crop the image yourself or add empty space to "fill out" the image and create a square shape - all before uploading your images!
