Decide who should see what in your LemonadeLXP

Course/group patterns focus on which learners should see what content. In this way, you can have all of your learners in the same LemonadeLXP without having to share the same content with everyone as well. (Unless you want to, of course!)

When setting up your LemonadeLXP, consider:

  • WHO your learners are

  • WHAT group(s) they are a part of

  • WHETHER your content is meant for everyone or a select few

With that in mind, which of the following fits best with your vision?

Pattern 1 - The General Public

Several people with books, all books have checkmarks

The situation:

You want all of your material to be seen by anyone and everyone.

Make it happen:

  • ASSIGN all learners to a generic group (called “Learners” by default)

  • LINK all Courses to the Learners group

The result:

All your learners will have access to the same Courses!

Pattern 2 - The Targeted Roles

Several people with books separated by a line

The situation:

Your content is a mix of materials each meant for specific company roles - only those who should see it should have access to it.

Make it happen:

  • ASSIGN each learner to their own respective group (e.g., “HR,” “Sales”)

  • LINK Courses solely to the groups that should have access to them

The result:

Learners can only see content meant for their assigned group - any Courses assigned to groups they're not a part of will be hidden from them.

Pattern 3 - The General Targeted Hybrid

Several people with course books, some books have locks others are checkmarked

The situation:

Some of your materials should be seen by everyone, while other materials should only be seen by particular learners.

Make it happen:

  • ASSIGN all learners to a general group (“Learners”)

  • ASSIGN each learner to their own respective group(s)

  • LINK general Courses to the general group

  • LINK specialized Courses to those who should have access

The result:

Every learner will have access to the same general Courses. Other group-specific Courses will only be seen by learners who're part of the Course's assigned group(s).

Pattern 4 - The Specialized Targeted Hybrid

Several people with books, all books have locks

The situation:

Some of your materials should be seen by more than one group, but not all of them.

Make it happen:

  • ASSIGN each learner to their own respective group(s)

  • LINK “shared” Courses solely to the groups who should see them

The result:

Courses will only be seen by the group(s) they've been assigned to, whether it be just one group or several!
