Resetting the Game and Gaining Momentum

How to celebrate success, refresh your leaderboard, and re-energize your learners.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Thinking about restarting the leaderboard? Great news! You can reset the game and give everyone a fresh shot at the top. But before you do, let’s make sure your top players feel seen and the reset drives even more engagement—not confusion.

🏆 Step 1: Celebrate Your Top Players

Before clearing scores:

  • 📥 Download the Leaderboard Report

  • 🎉 Recognize your top performers:

    • Shout-outs in email or chat

    • LLXP swag or fun merchandise

    • Coffee cards or even a day off

    • Announcements in team meetings or newsletters

The goal: reward effort and reinforce that reaching the top is worth it!

🚀 Step 2: Make the Reset a Launch Event

Don't just clear scores—turn it into an event:

  • Release new content with the reset

  • Create a mini competition (e.g., “Reach level 10 by Friday!”)

  • Offer small rewards at key milestones

  • Refresh the game theme:
Choose between Lemonade Stand or Financial Institution to match your vibe

📣 Step 3: Promote the Transformation

Build buzz and clarity:

  • Announce the reset early

  • Share why it’s happening (new content, fairness, fresh start)

  • Get learners excited about climbing the ranks again

✅ Summary

Resetting your game can be a fantastic way to boost engagement—just be sure to:

  • Celebrate your top players

  • Plan the reset like an event

  • Refresh your game theme if needed

  • Communicate clearly to all learners

💡 Note: Resetting the game does not impact course progress, training completions, or any other learning history. It’s just the game scores!
